The Basics

Greg grew up in a small Illinois farm town, moved to New York State during his middle school years, and then headed back to the Midwest, attending high school and college in the Milwaukee area. After completing his graduate studies (and meeting his wonderful wife Naoko), Greg taught music at both the elementary school and college levels. However, the life of a pastor called loud and clear, and Greg has spent the time since serving churches on the Worship and Programming side, most recently at Willow Creek in the Chicago area. Greg and Naoko have been incredibly blessed through the adoption of their son, Kashi, and love to hike, play games and make music.

My responsibilities at church are....Planning and overseeing the weekend worship services

My favorite thing about being at Northview is...having a chance to work alongside some incredibly dedicated and talented volunteers and staff!

If I had my dream vacation I’d...travel to all sorts of out of the way places – Iceland and New Zealand come to mind…

If you want to read a good book get...“The Screwtape Letters” by C.S. Lewis. Sometimes fiction can speak truth with even more clarity than non-fiction!

If I could do a hobby for a living I’d...do pretty much what I’m doing right now!

My favorite team to cheer for is...not from Indy, I’m afraid – all those years as a “Cheesehead” have made me a fan of the mighty Green Bay Packers

The best movie I’ve ever seen is...changing on a weekly basis!

My most rewarding volunteer activity is...serving under-resourced children

If I didn't work at Northview I’d...be teaching little kids their “do re mi’s”
